One week into the 2026-27 NBA season, the NBA Finals odds board has already undergone significant changes. The San Antonio Spurs are now the standalone favourites to win the title at +285, having previously shared top billing with the Oklahoma City Thunder at +270. OKC has dropped to +380 amid a slew of injuries to start the season, including long-term ones to Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace.
Contenders shuffle
After a poor start, the reigning champion New York Knicks have slipped from a tie with the Philadelphia 76ers at +900 to a tie with the Boston Celtics at 10-1. Boston has improved from 13-1 following a 3-1 start.
Several other teams have climbed the championship board in the first week. The Toronto Raptors have moved from 25-1 to 15-1, the Minnesota Timberwolves from 25-1 to 16-1, and the Houston Rockets from 35-1 to 16-1.
Heat struggle out of the gate
The much-hyped Miami Heat, led by Giannis Antetokounmpo, have lengthened from 30-1 to 55-1 for the title after failing to win a game in the season’s first week.
MVP race
Antetokounmpo has dropped from 14-1 to 16-1 on the MVP odds board, which still features Victor Wembanyama at the top with odds of +210.
